MIAMI (TCD) — An 18-year-old man was arrested for allegedly encouraging a woman to hire a hit man to kill her 3-year-old son by unknowingly using a parody website to hire the hit.
Jazmin Paez, 18, was arrested July 18 after she reportedly sent a request on rentahitman.com to kill her son. NBC Miami reports Paez asked the hit man to “get something done once and for all” and to have him be “taken far, far, far away and possibly be killed but ASAP.”
Paez allegedly sent the website photos of her 3-year-old and detailed his locations. The man who runs the site contacted Miami-Dade Police, but they reportedly told him to contact CrimeStoppers. He eventually got through to a detective to look into the case, and Paez was taken into custody.
Then, on Monday, Aug. 28, police arrested Gamaliel Soza on charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and unlawful use of a communication device. NBC News reports Soza allegedly texted Paez, “The kid is the problem. I hope you see that all I ever wanted was to free you.”
He reportedly said he would “think about coming back” if she killed her son.
Soza was booked into custody and held on $15,000 bond.
Paez’s father told NBC Miami his daughter is “not a monster.”
He said, “My daughter is a little girl who was born with health problems. She has liquid retained in her neck. She’s had 12 surgeries, she lost the ability to move her face. She’s been bullied in school, they called her ‘the monster.'”
Paez posted bond July 19 and is due back in court Oct. 18, while Soza’s next appearance is scheduled for Sept. 27.
